The maritime sector is under growing pressure to decarbonize. Regulations such as EU MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification), and others are pushing vessel owners and operators to track and limit emissions. Many maritime operations still rely on fragmented data, spreadsheets, manual reporting, and legacy systems, making it difficult to get accurate, real-time insight into performance.
Spinergie was founded to address precisely these gaps: aggregating operational, environmental, and technical data, applying algorithms and AI, and delivering insights and tools that allow operators to improve fuel use, emissions, voyage planning, vessel selection, and compliance. Spinergie is a French maritime‐technology company, Founded by Jean Cristofari (CEO) and Louis Jozon (CPO), offering AI-driven data analytics and intelligence to help vessel managers, offshore operators, charterers and other industry stakeholders reduce carbon emissions, increase operational efficiency, and comply with evolving regulatory requirements. Both founders bring domain expertise in the offshore and maritime sectors, especially around fleet operations, vessel performance, and maritime data analytics. Its products include market intelligence tools and smart fleet management, allowing real-time monitoring, benchmarking, forecasting, reporting, and operational optimization across marine and offshore sectors.

Spinergie’s product suite is designed to bring transparency, efficiency, and sustainability into maritime operations through two main offerings: Market Intelligence and Smart Fleet Management. The Market Intelligence platform provides deep analytical insight into vessel performance, offshore project activity, and future demand forecasting, particularly in the offshore wind and marine logistics sectors. It enables companies to benchmark vessels, evaluate supplier performance, plan supply chain operations, and forecast project requirements with precision, reducing costly misallocations and delays.
On the operational side, Smart Fleet Management delivers real-time monitoring of vessel activity, fuel consumption, and emissions. It integrates data from onboard systems, weather forecasts, and operational schedules to produce actionable insights for optimizing voyages, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with regulations like IMO DCS and EU MRV. Features include single-entry vessel reporting to cut administrative workload, AI-driven voyage optimization considering vessel type and environmental conditions, automated regulatory reporting, and customizable dashboards that track KPIs across entire fleets. This integrated system not only improves day-to-day operational efficiency but also supports long-term sustainability goals by helping operators cut emissions, lower fuel costs, and achieve verifiable progress toward decarbonization targets.
Spinergie successfully closed a Series A funding round in June 2022 raising approximately €11 million (roughly US$11.4-11.6 million) to accelerate growth and scale operations. The round was led by Iris Capital and SWEN Capital Partners’ Blue Ocean fund, both prominent European investors focused on technology and sustainability. Other participants included Polytechnique Ventures, as well as individual and angel investors such as Sanne Manders (COO of Flexport), Jean-Gabriel Levon (co-founder of Ynsect), and Antoine de Chassy (founder of Loft Orbital). These investors are mostly based in France and Europe, with some global individuals bringing maritime, logistics, and sustainability domain expertise. The funds are being used to accelerate product development, expand its Smart Fleet Management and Market Intelligence platforms, and support international expansion into key maritime markets such as Asia, the Middle East, and South America. Beyond pure growth, the funding also strengthens Spinergie’s ability to invest in advanced data analytics and AI capabilities, ensuring it can deliver more precise forecasting, regulatory compliance tools, and decarbonization support for the global shipping and offshore industries.
Case Study
CORSICA linea Partnership
- What it is: Corsica Linea, a maritime transport company operating ferry services (freight + passengers) in the Mediterranean, partnered with Spinergie to deploy its Vessel Performance module (part of Smart Fleet Management) and Voyage Optimizer features.
- Goals:
- Monitor ship performance in real time.
- Quantify gains in consumption (fuel efficiency) after technical stops or improvements.
- Optimize crossings according to weather, vessel type etc.
- Support Corsica Linea’s broader environmental target: 40% CO₂ emission reduction by 2030.
- Actions: Use of AI and Spinergie tools to measure consumption, emissions per nautical mile, adjust schedules / vessel speed & stop strategies; implement operational changes. Also integrating intelligence into a “fleet center” for centralized performance monitoring.
- Results / Early Outcomes: Between 2022 and 2024, Corsica Linea achieved a 15% reduction in CO₂ emissions per nautical mile.
This case illustrates how Spinergie’s products can translate into measurable emissions reductions, operational savings, and stronger compliance with environmental goals/regulations.
Final Thoughts
Spinergie represents a compelling example of how digitalization, AI, and data analytics are increasingly essential in the maritime industry’s shift toward sustainability. By combining robust data collection, real-time operations monitoring, benchmarking, forecasting, and reporting tools, Spinergie helps vessel operators and charterers address not only environmental challenges (carbon emissions, regulatory compliance) but also operational inefficiencies and transparency. Their €11 million Series A funding positions them well to scale their product offerings, expand in various geographies (Asia, South America, Middle East), deepen their R&D (algorithm/data models), and engage more clients across offshore wind, shipping, ports, and related sectors. The partnership with Corsica Linea is a concrete example of value delivered in both emission reduction and operational optimization.
For stakeholders in maritime transport, whether shipowners, regulators, technology providers, or environmental advocates, Spinergie’s work underscores the importance of integrating advanced analytics into fleet operations, not just for compliance or green credentials, but for cost savings, competitive differentiation, and long-term resilience.
